Announcement: The new platform!
Hello Navigators!
We are so excited to be sharing big news today: we've officially moved to our new platform, and we couldn't be more excited to show it to you.
Nothing you rely on is going away. We've moved to a brand new platform, not changed direction. Same mission, same free resources, now in a home built to grow with us.
💻 What you'll find on the new platform:
⚠️ Risk Assessment: This is our new and improved risk assessment tool. You answer some questions and build a profile for your camp. Based on this profile the tool surfaces the risks most likely to matter for your activities, location, and setup. You can then identify the controls you need from our list of best practices, and curate it all into a custom safety roadmap with clear priorities, owners, and timelines.
🗺️ Safety Roadmap: This is a new feature we’ve developed which turns everything we know about your camp into a custom safety roadmap. You can see your risk profile, see what you already have in place and where you need to focus next. Most importantly (and one of our most requested features) you can export it into reports built for whoever needs to see it: your leadership and staff, your board, your insurance provider, or a version for parents.
🧰 Resource Hub: Our new and improved resource hub, with over 67 free and editable safety resources. You can filter and search for resources, or opt to just see the resources that are most relevant to your Camp’s safety roadmap.
💰 Partner & Grant Programs: Our new hub to connect camps to funding and partnership opportunities, including grant programs and partnerships with organizations working to strengthen camp safety nationally. Our first program with Starlink is live and you’ll hear more on this over the coming week.
🩷 Community: This links back to the existing general discussion forum, where you can connect with other camp professionals. We plan to move this over to the new platform in the coming months, stay tuned!
👩🏻🏫 Learning Hub: Similarly, this links back to our existing platform for all our course content and learning materials. We plan to move this over to the new platform in the coming months, stay tuned!
🧭 HOW TO LOGIN:
You now have one login for everything: the new platform, the community & the risk assessment tool.
If you already have a The Safety Navigator account:
Go to thesafetynavigator.org and click Sign in
Enter the same email address you used to login previously.
First time signing in since the change? Click Forgot password and set a new password using the link we email you (from no-reply@thesafetynavigator.org). If it doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder.
The first time you sign in to the platform, we'll ask a few quick questions to set up your camp profile.
That same email and password now works across our new Safety Navigator Platform and the existing Community.
Used Google or a previous option to sign in before? Use Forgot password with that same email address. Please don't create a new account with a different email. You'd end up with a new, empty Community profile.
If you're new to The Safety Navigator:
Go to thesafetynavigator.org and click sign in to Create an account.
Sign up with your email address and a password.
Click the link in the confirmation email we send you.
Sign in and follow the quick setup to create your camp, or join your camp's team if a colleague has already set it up.

This has been a fast sprint for our team - we started designing and building this in mid-August once we returned from the Connection tour. We're proud of where it is, but moving this quickly means there will be things we haven't caught yet. When you spot something, email us at contact@thesafetynavigator.org and we'll fix it fast. Your feedback is a big part of how this gets better.
